Coffee: Why is it so popular?

Just curious, why is coffee so popular or liked?  What is it about coffee that makes everyone around the world lovers of it?  Is it the smell? The taste? The effects of caffeine? Is it a learned behaviour? A trendy status symbol?  A comfort food? Why coffee? Why not just any other drink that is warm/hot?

For you coffee addicts out there, please share your reasons!

I started drinking coffee because of the caffeine. I kept drinking coffee because my body, addicted to the stimulants, convinced itself that it smelled and tasted good.

Try some Red Bull, it has lots of caffeine.

You get wings from it too, a great deal.

But it tastes like concentrated scrotal sweat mixed with the worst chemicals humanity has to offer.

I go between coffee and tea really but for me it's the smell. It's hard to beat a hot fresh brew of coffee on a cold morning (unless it's hot tea but again....coffee post), it's calming and comforting when you wrap your hands around the hot mug and just inhale the scent. Plus you have your choice of different flavored creamers if one likes that or syrups so each mug can be a different experience.

Satan took a crap and it sprouted into a coffee tree with lots of little craps growing on it. They're highly addictive, plus we love us some bitter dark evil dung, so a worldwide addiction was formed.

Sound far fetched? No more so than forbidden apples on the tree of knowledge.

There should be a coffee ban that will make the Democrats very happy. Anything banned will make the Democrats happy for appropriately 5 minutes or so.

maybe banning it will make pro-lifers happy since caffeine can cause abortions/miscarriages.

What kind of things do democrats like to ban?

Or are you referring the bans on gay marriage that make many Republicans so happy?

Or on abortion?

Or on drugs?

Or on refugees?

I'm not saying it's wrong to ban all those things, but you're one to say democrats like to ban things.

It's a debate on COFFEE and he brings politics into it. I think if he stubbed his toe he'd blame a Democrat for making the furniture and then say Democrats should ban potato's because ......reasons.
