Evolution vs. Creation

What is your opinion on Evolution and Creation?

Creation is a belief held by a religion (Christianity), which doesn't make it necessarily true. It's what your religion believes in, and is purely a belief. Whereas evolution is a fact, with primary evidence to support it. The only evidence creationists provide is the Bible, which is secondary evidence and therefore, not credible. The Bible only began to be written forty years after "Jesus" died.

From my vantage point, Evolution is the How. God is the who.

Many Christians say that it is impossible for something to appear out of nothingness (the earth) and that even if the big bang created the earth, what created the big bang and what created what created the big bang? (and so on), to which I ask, what created "God"? If something can't appear out of nothingness, neither can "God". If an almighty, all-knowing god with the power to create planets, suns, light, water and animals appeared out of nothingness then it's totally pliable that a spherical stone, dirt and water mass could.

We know that our universe wasn't eternal. We don't know if an entity that could be referred to as "God" isn't eternal.

I agree that when we ask how did it all start, there can be no all knowing answer. It is so mind boggling when we try to wrap our minds behind the vastness of the universe, how it all works together as one.

We ask how can space go on forever? We ask what is space? How could there be empty space for the supposed big bang to spew into? Where did that space come from? There are limitless questions with no answers.

To me it makes sense there is a God that controls this vast universe. Why else would our planet be the only one with intelligent life, after decades of searching for radio signals from other planets.

Why is it even possible that radio waves exist? Why do electrons and such allow us to create video from satellites signals hundreds of miles away? Why does it all work so perfectly? Why does our voice travel thousands of miles through wires, and be instantly clearly heard? This all seems impossible! Why does it work? I know they can explain how it technically works, but why do electronic signals even exist?

If evolution is true, there should be millions of planets with intelligent life. There should be billions of radio waves detected by our technology, from all these planets.

I have no clue how God was created, but the things I do know are the things I can see and touch.

If evolution is true, and we are all but evolved animals, why does mankind possess true evil, whereby animals do not.

Even most animals do not kill their own young. It seems that humans possess a selfish evil that overrides simple humanity. Why? The Bible speaks to this evil and it's origin.

When I look at the moral values of Christians compared to the values of non Christians, I see a huge difference. Why should this be if we are all but evolved animals?

Yes I realize Christian values are based on God's word, but why do they possess more self control when saying no to so many tempting vices in life? Yes yes, I know Christians sin as well, but much less so than others.

Why do most Christians possess the most basic of humanity, knowing convenience abortions are wrong? Why do most non believers lack the simple humanity to support the right to life of all innocent life?

I have lived my life, and have witnessed a huge difference between Christian's and non Christians. The Bible, written thousands of years ago, has a wisdom far beyond the capability of those living during those times. The wisdom of this book is truly amazing as it tenets still speaks to a culture thousands of years later.

There are so many prophesies from the Bible coming true, that statistics say the odds are beyond possible, unless supernatural.

The Bible said that the Jews would someday have their own nation amidst huge numbers of Arabs that hated them. It was a Miracle when the Jewish people won their war for Israel, against the huge opposition from Arabs.

But I digress :)

My opinion is that they aren't mutually exclusive possibilities. Evolution doesn't have anything to do with creation. It describes scientifically how simple things are able to grow into more complex things.

At the end of the day how far back do we go to what created the thing that created the thing & there lies the infinite loop.

Like for people that bileve in god, they say he is almighty but something had to make god. Take space, empty vast nothingness, that just wasn’t there, something or someone had to put that there, that cant just exist out of no where, even if you say the big bang, what made the big bang, but what made that to make that.

Its a endless answer & for me it honestly opens up the idea of us living in a simulation or something along those lines because everything weve ever done & made has a creator which is us, so what ever made space & so on.

Fascinating but also worrying as to what actually is out there.

The origin of life remains very much a mystery, but biochemists have learned about how primitive nucleic acids, amino acids and other building blocks of life could have formed and organized themselves into self-replicating, self-sustaining units, laying the foundation for cellular biochemistry. Astrochemical analyses hint that quantities of these compounds might have originated in space and fallen to Earth in comets, a scenario that may solve the problem of how those constituents arose under the conditions that prevailed when our planet was young.

Creationists sometimes try to invalidate all of evolution by pointing to science's current inability to explain the origin of life. But even if life on Earth turned out to have a nonevolutionary origin (for instance, if aliens introduced the first cells billions of years ago), evolution since then would be robustly confirmed by countless microevolutionary and macroevolutionary studies.

The existence of God is proved in five ways:

1. The First Way: Argument from Motion

Our senses prove that some things are in motion.

Things move when potential motion becomes actual motion.

Only an actual motion can convert a potential motion into an actual motion.

Nothing can be at once in both actuality and potentiality in the same respect (i.e., if both actual and potential, it is actual in one respect and potential in another).

Therefore nothing can move itself.

Therefore each thing in motion is moved by something else.

The sequence of motion cannot extend ad infinitum.

Therefore it is necessary to arrive at a first mover, put in motion by no other; and this everyone understands to be God.

2. The Second Way: Argument from Efficient Causes

We perceive a series of efficient causes of things in the world.

Nothing exists prior to itself.

Therefore nothing [in the world of things we perceive] is the efficient cause of itself.

If a previous efficient cause does not exist, neither does the thing that results (the effect).

Therefore if the first thing in a series does not exist, nothing in the series exists.

If the series of efficient causes extends ad infinitum into the past, for then there would be no things existing now.

That is plainly false (i.e., there are things existing now that came about through efficient causes).

Therefore efficient causes do not extend an infinitum into the past.

Therefore it is necessary to admit a first efficient cause, to which everyone gives the name of God.

3. The Third Way: Argument from Possibility and Necessity

We find in nature things that are possible to be and not to be, that come into being and go out of being i.e., contingent beings.

Assume that every being is a contingent being.

For each contingent being, there is a time it does not exist.

Therefore it is impossible for these always to exist.

Therefore there could have been a time when no things existed.

Therefore at that time there would have been nothing to bring the currently existing contingent beings into existence.

Therefore, nothing would be in existence now.

We have reached an absurd result from assuming that every being is a contingent being.

Therefore not every being is a contingent being.

Therefore some being exists of its own necessity, and does not receive its existence from another being, but rather causes them. This all men speak of as God.

4. The Fourth Way: Argument from Gradation of Being

There is a gradation to be found in things: some are better or worse than others.

Predication's of degree require reference to the “uttermost” case (e.g., a thing is said to be hotter according as it more nearly resembles that which is hottest).

The maximum in any genus is the cause of all in that genus.

Therefore there must also be something which is to all beings the cause of their being, goodness, and every other perfection; and this we call God.

5. The Fifth Way: Argument from Design

We see that natural bodies work toward some goal, and do not do so by chance.

Most natural things lack knowledge.

But as an arrow reaches its target because it is directed by an archer, what lacks intelligence achieves goals by being directed by something intelligence.

Therefore some intelligent being exists by whom all natural things are directed to their end; and this being we call God.

This is your decision, no force here. However, if you want to be forgiven by God and come into a relationship with him, you can do so right now by asking him to forgive you and come into your life. Jesus said, "Behold, I stand at the door of your heart and knock. He who hears my voice and opens the door, I will come into him [or her]."

God views your relationship with him as permanent. Referring to all those who believe in him, Jesus Christ said of us, "I know them, and they follow me; and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand."

God created all things. Evolution fails to explain how life began. Evolution is unproven and DNA even says that we do not descend from the neanderthral. In fact, we are all descendants of Adam & Eve. If we, humans, really evolved from the neanderthral, wouldn't apes be human today? Except they are not and there is a lack of evidence to prove that evolution actually happened according to Darwin's theory. His theory has always been unproven. It remains that way. Creationists on the other hand have a better concept of explaining how life originated and how we came to be. In the Book of Genesis, it is clear that God taught Adam, the first man, how to name animals, the different plants, trees etc and eventually, named the first woman Eve.
