Yes, correct. They are capitalist society that have enjoyed economic prosperity, but have also slowly implemented over the past 100 years , horrible economic policies that deprive their citizens of a greater potential opportunities and growth. However such policies are not to the extent that it has train-wrecked the country like Venezuela and North Korea. Rule of thumb: The larger government gets, the more poverty is created. horrible economic policies that deprive their citizens of a greater potential opportunities and growth. Hello jax: It's true.. A society has to decide whether to protect the most vulnerable amongst them, or the richest.. Scandinavia has decided to protect the vulnerable, and I suppose that's gonna keep some rich guy from getting richer.. Which is cool with me.. The point of my post, however, was to show that a capitalistic economy CAN survive and even thrive with bits of socialism thrown in, re: your local fire department.. Seems to me, that right wingers believe an economy is EITHER capitalistic or socialistic, and that's simply not true.. excon Side: Wrong. Socialism IS socialism
Socialism relies on Capitalism. Without sufficient Capitalism, socialist countries are shitholes. As for Scandinavian countries, many have more economic freedom (Capitalism) than the US. Side: Of course

Scandinavian countries adopted lots of socialism, but they're still CAPITALIST'S, right? Nope. The government doesn't own the means of production in Scandanavian countries, nor does the community. It's capitalism with capitalist social programs paid for by capitalism. Side: Wrong. Socialism IS socialism
It's capitalism with capitalist social programs paid for by capitalism. Hello OP: I dunno. Are those programs you mention SOCIALISM or CAPITALISM? I didn't know they could be BOTH. In fact, they can't. Lemme ask you this. Since the money to pay for it would have been earned via capitalism, should Bernie have just called Medicare for All, CAPITALISM? Dude! excon Side: Of course
