What's better film and comic wise Marvel or DC?

I wanted to know what is the more popular choice and why they are.

Marvel

I like Marvel for both film and comic wise. I've really enjoyed a lot of the superhero movies such as Spiderman, Captain America, Thor, X-Men and others and the comic books. My dad has a lot of Marvel comics that some are old and some that are new. The only good film that was good to me for DC was Man of Steel. I have read some DC comics such as Green Lantern.

You didn't like any of the new Batman movies?

I didn't like the last one really. I did like the Dark Knight and 1st one.

personally i think that marvel is better i mean dc is only copying what marvel dose like hawk eye and the green arrow dc is only copying what marvel dose.

I love both, but honestly the Marvel characters and plots are more interesting and have many twists while DC does entertain, but the overall DC universe does not win in comparison to Marvel.

Personally i think that marvel is better as there are loads more films and the characters are more interesting and well known. for example thor, Spiderman, Iron man, Captain America etc. also the comics are a lot easier to get into and i prefer to read them to the Dc comics.

Comics- It isn't easy to come up with a clear winner because I've been watching the two companies copy each other and be pretty close in style since the mid-80s. There are a few objective differences (DC doesn't really have mutants, Marvel's heroes are primarily centered in NYC, etc), but in terms of "feel" and "style" they have more in common with each other than probably any two other companies. They are both big business companies. And business for comics has been pretty crappy for a while now.

That said, in the 21st century, I have not been a fan of the choices Marvel has made to increase interest. Spider-Man has gotten better recently, but the entire X-Men franchise has been FUBARed since M-Day, and the Avengers, while more popular than ever, haven't felt right to me for quite some time.

Also, as similar as they are in tone, I have long felt like Marvel is aimed more at children and teens while DC specializes in more mature audiences. There are certain writers and series on both sides that buck this trend, but overall, as a thinking adult, I feel a little more satisfied with DC.

AND...these past several years, Marvel has, IMO, pretty much done the flawed hero angle to death. Between "Civil War", "World War Hulk", "Schism", and "X-men vs. Avengers", not to mention the fact that 2/3rds of the Avengers movie featured arguments ans scuffles between the stars instead of fighting villains, I'm so freaking bored of hero vs hero conflicts.

So as far as comics go, I'm a DC.

With Movies, Marvel has a clear lead. They've been much more aggressive about filling the market, and of course the establishment of a shared universe with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And while several of their movies are horrible, most of the important ones are great. DC meanwhile, seems destined to only score a solid victory with Batman movies.

When it comes to animated series, DC has usually had better and more mature series.

I like the Batman films better than any of the Marvel films... So, DC!

Well the Hulk would destroy Batman. And Iron Man and Captain America. Also Scarlett Johanson is waaaaaay hotter than the catwomen.

The Hulk looks like a giant muscular vegetable with stretchy purple pants.

Iron Man is pretty useless without his suit.

Captain 'Murica has a shield... A shield. Does he think it's the middle ages or something? He doesn't even have a sword.

And Scarlet Johanson isn't a superhero... She's an actress.

I tend to find the villains and anti-heroes most intriguing (the heroes are just too predictable). While I have some definite Marvel favourites (esp. Loki), I would say that D.C. tends to present villains and anti-heroes that I like more consistently than Marvel.

Side: DC

I say DC because I am partial toward Superman and have been a fan of his since I was a youngster.
