I had a waitress scold me for wanting white bread. She said Brown bread is better for me.

If I were the manager and I caught the waitress telling a customer they should order something better for their health, I would tell that waitress to take a break and then go in the back with her and send her packing, fired. The waitress's job is to take orders, not to correct the customer according to her opinions on which bread is healthier. The waitress is out of line with her "concern". Firing her would be doing her the favor of teaching her how not to act when she is an employee. The waitresses unsolicited advice was an insult. If the customer asks for white bread, her job is to bring white bread to the customer, not to lecture on which kind of bread is healthier. If they are out of white bread, "we are out of white bread" is all she should say, and offer the available choices. A lecture, however brief, on which is healthier is out of line. 1
