Jeez, think about the diseases that could cure, the schools that could build (for the native Americans), compared to it's effectiveness in blocking people who want to get people or goods into this country (wont even slow them down), and I think you'll see Native Americans AGAINST that wall .....and MANY of the rest of U.S. Americans, also! I'll bet he spends another couple million$ to put his NAME on it (of course), every few miles! (or yards)! More $$$$ that could have built school or medical facilities for the "Native Americans"! GET REAL! (Smells like Bella). Side: Yes
$1.6Bn isn't actually much to a country, especially one as wealthy as the U.S. The CNN article cited in the OP above shows this; the U.S. military budget for the year is $658Bn. I must ask (genuinely curious), are you opposed to any increased spending to achieve the goal of combating illegal immigration or just this particular instance? Side: Yes
We spend MORE on defense than the next seven countries together. I think we do because we are a capitalist country (with lobbyists), who "sell" our politicians on YUGE contracts at YUGE prices. China, Russia, and others can put out FAR more equipment for FAR less money, which is why we spend so much. These lobbyists cost U.S. BILLIONS every year that could be used to pay for what we NEED, instead of some lobbyists yacht. Changes could be made to reduce our military spending OR get far more for our money. As far as illegal immigration is concerned, border crossing had been negative for the last Obama administration, now some idiot wants to spend billions on a "wall" to, what? Slow down the negativity?? I don't think we need to spend MORE on Immigration, we spend enough, and we're winning! Want to raise military spending ... stop the foolish WALL! Side: Yes
