I call the Atheist religion.... Humanism. It is a man made cult preaching how only they have the answers to life....evolution(even though they have no clue where that first living cell came from). And that the people who believe in God are just insecure deplorable irredeemable people. Side: It is a religion
Of course atheism is a religion. The atheist worships his own mind as his own pitiful little dying god hoping in death to get out of reality and be exonerated. Atheists cannot admit to being religious because they cannot admit that they hold their own mind up as a god. Sometimes they will say "I am my own God", but then they will say they are not religious because they "have no god-belief". Atheism is double-talk nonsense and you cannot reason with an atheist because they believe in nothing while they are something....they are committing suicide and you won't talk them out of it. It is possible that something you say may trigger them to seek the truth, but that would be a miracle you cannot take credit for. Side: It is a religion
Naturalism is the religion of Atheism, atheism is a religion which disguises itself as a philosophical system at times while making religions statements such as "I am my own God" at other times. Atheism is a religion, call it Naturalism or Humanism or Atheism....it's all nonsense and it's evil, the number one killer of mankind. Side: It is a religion

Hello: I dunno if you're asking MY opinion, or what the law is on the subject. Cause, they're NOT the same. So, I'll tackle both.. Why not? I'm an atheist.. People who believe NOTHING don't form groups to celebrate NOTHING.. If we did, our meetings would be pretty QUIET. So, here's the deal. If a group CLAIMS it's an atheist group, BEWARE.. It's a POLITICAL group, or a group of agnostics who are looking for agreement.. For certain, they are NOT atheists.. Pursuant to the Establishment Clause of the Constitution, the government has NO opinion on what IS or what is NOT a religion. You, my friend, can form a group that believes in cherry pits, and you'll get a tax exemption.. Getting a tax exemption doesn't make you a religion.. Now, I'm gonna throw you a curve.. I'm a CULTURAL Jew. I don't believe in god, but I sure do LOVE the religion.. I go to Temple.. I celebrate Shabbot. I light Hanukah candles.. I eat lox and bagels and I say oy vey now and again. I'm a Jew in EVERY way except my belief.. Chomp on that for a while.. The PROBLEM Christians have with that, is that WITHOUT Christianity, there's NO underlying culture.. We Jews got PLENTY of culture.. Another problem Christians have with that, is that Judaism doesn't REQUIRE belief. Christians CAN'T be Christians WITHOUT belief. If I didn't believe in unicorns, why would I have a church against them? I wouldn't believe an Atheist who goes to church is actually an Atheist and not just using Atheism as some other means of affiliation in a group. An atheist is simply one who does not believe in a God. Side: It is not a religion
